B.B. King is known for his expressive singing and blues-style guitar playing that has earned him a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the first artists to be honored by the museum. King grew up singing in a gospel choir and bought his first guitar at age 12. His career really took off in 1956 when he founded his own record label, Blues Boys Kingdom, and went on a record-breaking 342 concert "Chitlin' Circuit" tour. Since then, B.B. King has received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, won 15 Grammy Awards and released an astonishing 56 albums with tons of chart-topping hits. The king of blues will be making an appearance at the State Theatre in Minneapolis on Friday, November 12th at 8 pm.
