Pink Floyd achieved huge worldwide success in the 70s with the concept albums The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. Roger Waters was one of the founding members that gained fame as the bass player, lyricist and co-lead vocalist of the band. Fellow founding member Syd Barrett left the group in 1968, making Roger Waters the principal songwriter and conceptual leader until his own departure from the band in 1985. Waters has released a total of nine solo albums on top of Pink Floyd's 14 studio albums and four live albums.
