Big Weekend for Basketball Fans!!

It feels like March Madness has taken over the Twin Cities and it’s not even February yet. The talk around town seems to be all about basketball. Whether it is the big Gopher Illini game at Williams Arena tonight or the Timberwolves/Lakers game at the Target Center tomorrow night. Good thing TicketKing still has good seats left for both games! Our Timberwolves/Lakers tickets are going pretty fast though so you'd better hurry if you want to guarantee your attendance to the show. Choose FREE In-Store Minneapolis pick-up when you check out and stop by our office to pick up your seats. It’s easy, convenient and it’s free – who couldn't use a little free right now?

Updated TicketKing Picture!

I finally put up a picture of our Minneapolis office! Scroll down and it should be located on the right side of my page. This is what you would see if you were heading North on Washington Ave, crossing over Chicago Ave. At least people will be able to recognize it now! I'll try to get a better angle or even put multiple pictures up soon. This was just taken yesterday- as you can see, there is a nice, welcoming pile of snow right in front. Enjoy! :)

**Ticket Prices Lowered**

Even though our prices are already almost impossible to beat, the bosses just lowered our Minnesota Wild ticket prices even more for next week's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs!! This will be their first home game after the highly anticipated NHL All Star break! After taking 5 whole days off without skates, sticks or pucks, I'll bet they'll make this next home game one definitely worth watching! And with Wild tickets starting at just $50 each, I can tell you now that these won't last long. Don't forget, we also carry parking passes so you don't have to walk too far in this wild Minnesota weather :)

UPS Guy?

The funniest thing happened last Friday.. We all saw the UPS truck pull up in front of our office. A man walks in and Gary immediately opens the door, letting him into our office. Gary grabs a few empty boxes of toner cartridges (that the UPS guy would normally take) and tries giving them to the man. Both of them look puzzled as Gary asks him, "Aren't you going to take these?" and the man replies, "I'm just here to get some tickets!?" WHOOOOPS! I guess he didn't notice that the man was wearing a normal coat and hat. After letting him back into the "customer area," I advised him to please excuse Gary's extreme friendliness. Then he mentioned that the UPS man was infact outside. I don't think we've laughed that hard in a while... That was a good one! Thanks Gary!!

ISHHY SUSHI

This usually happens at least twice per week.. The bosses LOVE sushi and frequently order from this place called Azuki. Gary from our office found this place while dropping off Gopher basketball tickets one day. Ever since then, the 3 guys seem to find these fishy morsels quite delicious. Let me just add that I am NOT a fan of sushi whatsoever. And yes, I have tried it 4 times- each time hoping it would taste better than the last, but nope. I've never really liked seafood at all, other than fish sticks but I'm not so sure those count. Sometimes just the smell is enough to make me want to run away, but today's aromas weren't too bad. Maybe someday my tastebuds will allow me to enjoy these raw, funky snacks but for now, I think I'll stick with my grilled chicken!

Check It Out!

Yesterday afternoon we received a new pretty cool-looking rug for our entry here in Minneapolis. I think it fits perfectly and makes a great addition to our office. It came just in time too- the floor was getting pretty nasty from all the salt on the sidewalk.

But here's the best part..

Julie and I were cleaning the area before putting the rug down and a man walks in and asks one of us to help him untangle his ID badge from a button on the back of his pants. Apparently he couldn't reach it, so Julie pretended to try and after a few seconds she asked me to help. While wondering if this was a joke or not, I finally got it. The man thanked us, admitting how
awkward that probably was, then went on his way. We definitely weren't expecting that one.

All Good Things Must Come To An End...

So here's another name to add to our list of rose receivers here at TicketKing- Mary!! I was lucky enough to capture the moment on camera. Monday afternoon she was (sort of) pleasantly surprised with a very thoughtful gift: roses, sushi and a 6-pack of Red Stripe. How sweet! I think the gift giver would be thrilled to know that the roses are now soaking up the sweet aromas of our bathroom, while the 6-pack of Red Stripe has been donated to the homeless, and as for the sushi... It's still in the fridge. We're not sure what to do with that yet. If you have any creative ideas though, let us know! ;) Some boys just don't get it when you say it's OVER.

On another note..

The Timberwolves 5-game winning streak has also come to an end. Last night's game against the Miami Heat was definitely a close one at 99-96. This doesn't mean it's over for them though! Their next 3 games are away, then they will be back home on Friday, January 23rd to face the New Orleans Hornets. We still have a good amount of tickets left starting at just $50 for that game. Get your Timberwolves tickets while they're still hott!!

Keep It Up Timberwolves!

So, they won their game last night against Oklahoma City, which makes this their 4th straight victory in a row! The final score was 123-79. Their next 2 games are both at home, beginning with the Milwaukee Bucks on January 10th, followed by the Miami Heat on January 13th. We still have tickets left for both games at very reasonable prices, so don't forget to check them out!

Better Luck With the Timberwolves?

Okay, so the Vikings let us down again this year but at least they made it as far as they did. It was pretty exciting working the day of the big game against Philadelphia! We definitely saw some hardcore fans. Since then, it's been a lot quieter around the office which is nice because we can catch up on other orders.

But we do still have the Timberwolves! After winning last night's game in Memphis, they are now on a 3-game winning streak (which hasn't happened since January 2007) and are scheduled to play the next 3 games at home! If you're looking for some cheap entertainment and want to help cheer for our T-wolves, check out our unbeatable prices! We have tickets starting at just $10!! Stop by and get your Timberwolves tickets before they're gone!

Vikings vs. Philly - BLACKOUT?

The Vikes have until 3:30 pm today to sell the remaining seats to their first playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles- But can they do it!? The phones haven't been ringing off the hook like they should be here at TicketKing, and it's got us wondering why. You would think fans would be going nuts... but they're not. The deadline has already been extended because they've made significant progress in ticket sales, so let's hope this progress is enough to air the game on TV.

Our exposure on the channel 4 news yesterday evening didn't seem to help as much as it should have. We've definitely had a lot of calls on Vikings tickets but it seems everyone is waiting until last minute or they just aren't willing to pay the money for the playoff tickets. Prices are definitely reasonable and competitive, so we just don't get it. We're crossing our fingers though and hoping we will see our Vikes in the Superbowl. Hey, it's possible right?!
